Building an Inclusive Future: CBC Community Engagement

At the Connecticut Building Congress (CBC), we believe that building a strong future for our industry starts with equitable access to opportunity and engaged internal teams. Through our Community Engagement initiatives, we aim to connect CBC members with impactful ways to educate, inspire, and empower the next generation within your firms and from outside—especially students who have been historically underrepresented in the Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Manufacturing (AECM) fields.
This page is your gateway to:
- Mentorship and volunteer opportunities with local schools and youth organizations
- Classroom and site-based learning experiences that bring real-world AECM careers to life
- Resources and partnerships that help broaden participation and representation in STEM industries across our state
- Exploration of important workforce engagement and community building strategies
Our goal is to provide inclusive pathways for Connecticut students to explore careers in AECM—regardless of their background, zip code, or starting point. By making our industry more accessible and relatable, we strengthen not only our future workforce, but also the communities we serve.
Together, CBC members can:
- Bridge the gap between education and industry
- Fuel curiosity and confidence in STEM learning
- Support a more diverse, skilled, and inspired workforce
Explore resources, connect with students, and help shape a more inclusive industry—starting today.
