Cadence on Canal | New Haven, CT
Cadence on Canal is an innovative 176-unit five story apartment building with state-of-the-art amenities in a true mixed-income community: 33% being affordable housing units.
Collaboration between the stakeholders was a top-down initiative from RJ Development. By engaging the design and construction team early, we worked together to drive value-based initiatives from the start. One successful outcome of this partnership is our team delivered this project not simply “on budget” but with less than 0.3% changes, 10-times better than the industry average. This team diligently exceeded City of New Haven minority subcontracting goals, with a diversity spend exceeding $14m (35%).

CCSU Elihu Burritt Library Annex | New Britain, CT
Built in 1972, The Central Connecticut State University Elihu Burritt Library is a vital academic and research resource for students, faculty, and the broader community.
LaRosa was awarded the bid for the 50-year-old library renovations and the adjacent new three-story construction. The Fairfield University Bellarmine College Project was constructed on the shuttered Bridgeport Diocese St. Ambrose property to provide enhanced academic support to low-income and first-generation students in Bridgeport and the surrounding communities. Students can earn credit towards a two-year associated degree and continue to blossom into a pathway of continued higher education. This project is not only special but inspiring because it took the heart of the previous manufacturing community and turned it into a two-year Jesuit College. Through the project team’s collaborative efforts, the academic campus was constructed in a short 3.5-month period and will foster the growth of the underrepresented students of the local community for many years to come.
