CBC HOSTS EVENT ON ENERGY EFFICIENCY

HAMDEN, CT – Members of the Connecticut Building Congress gathered last night to discuss the changes to the 2012 International Energy Conservation Code from the 2009 code. Connecticut state statute requires the adoption of the 2012 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) as early as 2013. The changes call for 26 percent more energy efficiency than the current 2009 code.

Acting State Building Inspector Joseph Cassidy,  private building owner Kerry Kerr (Hartford Hospital), project management and funding consultant Steven Chandler Hall (Chandler LLC) and Energy Code Consultant Frederick F. Wajcs, P.E. discussed the challenges that lie ahead and their plans to address and respond to these higher levels of efficiency standards. The panel discussion was moderated by Richard Jacques, AIA (Jacques Management LLC).

The presenters’ slideshow is available on CBC’s website for all those interested.
